Anonymous said: Do you honestly really believe in SasuSaku? Even after he's tried to kill her and has said he wasn't interested? Because I've always found you to be a logical person but sorry saying SS will happen is not real logical. I'm actually not even a shipper. I could care less what happens. But tbh I can only see NaruSaku as a realistic possibility. As much as I hate it I think it's been the one kishi wanted to do from day one. I just hope for your sake I'm wrong and SS does happen. Bc I think it won't.
I guess this’ll probably be slightly Anti-NS.
Well Anon-san, I don’t…exactly see the chances of NaruSaku becoming canon. I respect their ship, unlike certain other ships, and I understand why people ship it. At one point I shipped it myself, but as the series went on, it became apparent that it most likely won’t happen.
The only way NS would have a possibility of happening is if Sakura loves Naruto 100%, and after her fake confession it became obvious that wasn’t possible. I think that was around the same time I started to heavily dislike the ship in retrospect. I don’t want Sakura to use Naruto as a rebound, and I don’t want her to lie about her feelings either. Naruto didn’t want this, and yes he may care for her, but it’s obvious he respects her feelings for Sasuke.
He used to get so jealousy over Sasuke getting all Sakura’s attention but eventually that changed. And he stood on the sidelines and became supportive of it. He never told her to stop loving him, he never told her that she’d be better off with himself, he never told her that she and Sasuke would never happen, that it was “unhealthy”. Why? Because as I said, he cares for her. A lot. So he’d never do things like that to her. So I don’t understand why some shippers do, especially ones that say they’re Sakura fans.
Sakura’s feelings for Sasuke have led to her character development. Before the time skip Sakura has always felt like the weakest in the group. She knew Naruto was going off to train, and Sasuke was out of reach with Orochimaru. So she herself finally chose to get stronger as well, they even show her source of determination when she looks at a picture of the old days with Team 7. She loves Sasuke, and she desires to save him from the darkness he fell into. Sasuke is only pushing her away out of fear. He knows that Sakura loves him, he’s thankful for her feelings, he knows that he could have a loving family with her and rebuild the Uchiha clan. But his fear of losing something so dear to him again, like his own family, is a pain he did not want to feel again.
When Sakura yelled her feelings to Sasuke, his legs were trembling, he couldn’t even look her in the eyes as she spoke. If he really didn’t feel a single thing for her he could have just walked away and ignored her. But when she yelled for him to wait, he did, he listened to her, and he couldn’t handle it. He also knew she’d come after him again so he put her under genjutsu.
Yeah, Sasuke tried to kill her before, but he wasn’t in the right mind around that time. He was so unhinged it was disturbing. But when Sakura tried to take his life, she also had planned to take her own. Because a life without Sasuke was apparently too hard to bare. Killing the one whom you love, an act that even shocked Naruto when he found out. Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship is tragic and full of angst ever since Orochimaru changed Sasuke’s path. But it’s also full of hope, a light in the darkness. Sasuke doesn’t understand how Sakura could love a person like him, it really does get to him. I mean for pete’s sake, a god was talking about Sasuke and Sakura’s relationship with Kakashi. A god people.
Naruto made a promise to Sakura, and he planned to keep it. He is going to bring Sasuke back to his senses and drag him back to the village no matter what.
The thing is, if you think SS can’t happen just because Sasuke said he’s not “interested” then the same is pretty much applied to NS. When Naruto obviously had a chance to be with Sakura, but he turned her down. And at this point, his “crushing on her” is considering as teasing or a joke. Naruto hasn’t confessed to Sakura, despite him supposedly being so “head over heels” for her. Not once did he ever say, “I’m in love with you, Sakura.” in a serious manner. Most of the time his “crushing” was used in comedy relief. Look at confession scenes like SasuSaku has, and even NaruHina, though. If you compare them to Sakura’s fake confession, which ones is more meaningful?
I don’t ship ships based on who likes who, I ship it based off development and action. Sakura and Naruto never escalated over an above friends relationship. Even with all the time they spent together, they never spoke about how each other were more than just friends, or anything like that, neither were they depicted in such a way either. I thought they would, which was why I multishipped them, but when it became apparent they wouldn’t go beyond that, my feelings for this ship eventually eased away. The only time they’re actually depicted as romantically mutual is in fillers…and man….there are a shit ton of fillers.
I love Sakura, to death, I really do, and I ship her with Sasuke. I take both their feelings into consideration, they need each other.
At this point in the manga, there’s about 3 chapters left, plus a bonus chapter. Think about it, for Sakura to suddenly turn a 360 degree and love Naruto with all her heart when she wakes in such a short time is highly unlikely.
But then look at Sasuke and Sakura, Sakura confessed twice now, the first time Sasuke thanked her for loving him, the second time Sasuke was trembling as she spoke. And he couldn’t understand how she could love someone like him. He is aware of her feelings but pushes her away out of fear. He wants her and everyone else to hate him. Then you have a god who hopes that Sasuke will accept the love, one different from that of a mother. And Naruto plans to open Sasuke’s eyes, bring him back, he made a promise to Sakura after all. Even Kakashi got involved in this shit, several times, like I’m pretty sure it should be obvious at this point by now.
And then there’s Hinata, ever since she told Naruto how she felt while fighting to protect his life, Naruto has seen her in a different life. He knows his life is not just his own, he knows about Hinata’s feels and has left his answer to it ambiguous while meanwhile his relationship with her continued to grow, even before the scene with Pain. And how many time does Kishimoto have to continue to shove the hand holding scene in out faces to make it apparent that it’s not just “chakara transfer”.
I don’t want to even go into parallels, too much effort.
What I’m saying is that, there’s so much stacked against NS at this point in the manga. For it to become canon would just be an asspull, no offense to any of my NS followers. But I just don’t see the possibility of it happening. If you do happen to read this, and think otherwise then send me a message. Cause I’m interested to know how’d you think such a thing, but please refrain from any character bashing, that’s one thing I absolutely do not tolerate.
And with that I’mma end this post here, I hope I was able to answer your question Anon-san. Also sorry for any spelling errors, I’ve been deprived of sleep for the past day or so.
